Outreach

Rationale

Education has always been an incredibly important part of Kirsty's life. From her own academic journey, which was difficult due to learning differences, to her 15 years of teaching in secondary schools, Kirsty truly believes in the power of education to make a difference in young people's lives.

Reading is really important in the development of children and young people and it can be very difficult to foster a love of reading due to a number of barriers. Kirsty was the child who disliked reading as she found it difficult being dyslexic, therefore she has a passion for helping children and young people find their love for literature, as once Kirsty started to enjoy reading she became a reading addict!

Kirsty also believes in working with her community, be it with the Women's Institute, Libraries, Charity Shops or in Church Halls, it is incredibly important to give back. Therefore, as well as her outreach with children and young people, Kirsty would love to come to your events, not only in her local community, but in other communities around the UK.

School Visits

From whole school and year group assemblies to class and small group workshops, all students and abilities can be catered for. Kirsty will work with you to ensure that you get the experience for your students that you want.

Be it World Book Day or your own schools reading event, Kirsty would be delighted to be a part of your students journey to their love of reading.

Free Books For Schools

As an ex-educator, Kirsty understands the power of books. Therefore, when Kirsty published her first book, she pledged she would donate a free book to a school with every 50 copies sold, and Kirsty has kept that promise.

She has started in her local area, but of course there are thousands of schools across the UK, which Kirsty would love to donate copies to. If you would like to be added to the list of schools to receive a free copy then please fill in the Google Doc below.

Of course one way to help get free copies of A Princess on Her Own Terms into schools is to buy your copy!

Community Visits

Whether your event is a Christmas or Summer fair, fundraiser, community event, youth group or book club, Kirsty would love to get involved.

Talks, workshops and book signings, Kirsty does it all and she will coordinate with you to ensure your event is exactly the way you want it.

Contact Kirsty

If you are interested in inviting Kirsty to your school or event, then please fill out the contact form below and Kirsty will get back to you.

There is a small fee for visits, however, money does not grow on trees, and education and public services get very little funding. Therefore, if you are in an impoverished community or school, still please do contact Kirsty, as she is very happy to accommodate you if at all possible.
